The Entry Level Payroll Associate position is primarily responsible for all aspects of the daily business accounting process including payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable while acting in accordance with company mission, vision and values.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Data entry including review time sheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies

  • Verify hours worked, pay adjustments, and post information in designated records

  • Compute wages and deductions and enter data into the payroll system

  • Audit promotional rate changes, address changes, direct deposit set-ups in payroll system

  • Calculate, track, and audit vacation pay for employees

  • Record employee status changes including resignation in payroll system

  • Verify accuracy of weekly payroll process, including deductions for employee benefits

  • Communicating with employees regarding any questions or discrepancies with payroll

  • Process and Maintain certified payroll records as well as fringe benefit records weekly

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Perform special projects as needed or assigned by Accounting Supervisor

  • Additional reporting, analytics, auditing as required

  • Attend and participate in various department meetings as necessary

  • Filing of payroll records and invoices

Job Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software systems

  • Exceptional verbal, written, analytical and reasoning skills
